THANKS TO KAFKA

Here I am writing this in a planned goodbye
As a proof of choice, as a proof of life
Every morning should begin with a ray of light
With a dream, with a hope, with that glow in our eyes
But where is all that? Life’s changed so much

I would like to say thanks to Kafka
I’d like to name some friends I remember
I’d like to say thanks to the miserable
I would like to sit down with the drunkards
I would like to go on and give the hopeless a farewell
I would like to believe some children will make it
I would like to have been there the moment you

Out of life, not knowing where to go
My thoughts are restless tonight, the blame is too harsh
About the endless fight, the absence of god, a limited dull life
I was fine with that but never with you gone

I would like to say thanks to Kafka
I’d like to name some friends I remember
I’d like to say thanks to the miserable
I would like to sit down with the drunkards
I would like to go on and give the hopeless a farewell
I would like to believe some children will make it
I would like to have been there the moment you

Now I feel ready to let everything go
But there’s always one last thing to know, one memory to cherish
Like an addiction that entices you
You, you feel tempted to try to a find a new purpose to this lacklustre life

I would like to say thanks to the poets
Talk to the warriors that made it
I would like to begin again a thousand times
I would like to be stronger if there were another chance
I would like to undo the suffering
Yell to the perfect and pure

I would like to have been there that night
You felt so sad and alone
And stop you before you decided to take your own life
And lead me to nothingness with you

I would like to say thanks to Kafka
I would like to name some friends I remember
I would like to say thanks to the poets
Talk to the warriors that made it
I would like to begin again a thousand times
I would like to be stronger if there were another chance
I would like to believe some children will make it
I would like to have been there the moment you…
